Walsh Tornado Eight3 (a reference to the 1983 London Marathon) retro 80s made in England running trainers in Grey/Navy/White/Red. A style that stays true to it's original 1980s silhouette, the Walsh 'Tornado Eight3' features a stylish lightweight upper in soft suede and textile pitched with a cool leather heel counter for an added Indie edge! The two tone side chevron adds definition and the layered Vibram outsole of off white with black grip pays homage to the traditional runner style. Made in England Union Jack branding and gold Walsh signature finish the 'Tornado Eight3' men's retro trainers off in style!
Norman Walsh first developed the Tornado trainer in 1983 for athletes competing in marathons across the globe, most notably the 1983 London Marathon. The trainer incorporates an ultra-lightweight upper, grounded to the iconic Vibram outsole with extra EVA cushioning in the midsole to aid comfort during the rigours of long distance running.
FYI - The legend, Joe Strummer of The Clash completed the 1983 London Marathon in 4 hours and 13 minutes! Don't know if he was wearing Walsh trainers though?
